My First 2018 Entry

Hello everyone. I am back after missing for a year. I did not realise that the last post I had written on this blog of mine was December last year. Well, I am going to admit it that one of the reason that I did not post anything was because I am spending more time on Instagram and having instagram as my main photo album has made everything easy because of its privacy matters. On the other hand, it is also one of the best media for me to keep all of my selected photos online where I can always go there to view them whenever I feel like to without the need of keeping them on my phone.

So, this post is not going to be that long and of course it would not be that short too. I will be sharing my latest updates and photos on events happening this week. Well, to call it a November post would be too much since I will be uploading other updates on other event that I had attended in November.

Anyway, my school is having Uniform Unit Activities and Sports. So, for the first post of 2018 let me just share those events here. I did another blog for the school magazine team. It was initiated by me since last year and that explains why the url was written as semaiancrewsince2017.blogspot.com  CLICK HERE (SCHOOL SITE) . It was only meant for photos sharing and stuff. I created the blog since I was the head of editor for our school magazine, Semaian 2017 and this year too 2018. I am not so sure if they are going to keep me in that position or they will be having another teacher to do the job. It would be nice if they had me changed because I think 2 years as the Vice editor and 2 years as the head of editor, which makes that a 4 years is more than enough. However, if its going to be me still, then I will have to do more and give more for a better product and quality. It would not be easy of course but let's just take it as a challenge if it is still me in line. But, if its not then let's call that a blessing and an opening door to another opportunity. Right?

So, without further ado let us look at these photos that I have selected.

I know I will miss these kids even before 2019. Its their final year this year.

These faces may look familar right? They were my 2017 Form 5 students. Bumped into them in school few days ago.

Morning rocall before we start our Day 2 of Uniform Unit Program

 Actually, 20th November 2018 is public holiday for Maulidur Rasul and the school was supposed to be closed for Public Holiday. However, our school decided to proceed with the program since this week is the final week for our school week for 2018. So, the exception was for the muslim teachers and students. However, they decided to be part of the program still and it means a lot because they made the program feels better. And in fact, most of them are the one who took part in all of the activities held. Its good to see such attitude and commitment. And it also feels good to see the young teachers giving no excuse but to be fully commited to school events. That's what a great teacher should be like. Right?

These Form 5 students were having their extra class and was peeping out through the glass because they were jealous of the activities held outside. Its okay boys, University and after high school there will be more opportunities out there awaits.

So, I guess that's it for my first 2018 post. I will be posting more perhaps within this week. There are more for me to share but it all depends on the time. Its good that our school is now  available with free wifi but the connection is sometime too slow. This post was typed and made at home using my own internet. I will be busy updating the school blog since our principal has decided to make it as our official school site, so there will be more works to do and it has to be good. It should be a real website for a school official site but I did not know how to do one and that is why I decided to use blogspot as our school magazine official site. Little did I know that our principal has decided to make it as our official site since we have to have our myportfolio for teachers and school clerks. Its okay. Hopefully there will be someone who knows more about site building and stuff will come and do a better one.

A December 2017 entry

Hello and welcome back everyone. I know that I have been missing and gone away for a very long time. I admit that it is such a shame that I was even having a very hard time to get myself logged back in into this blog of mine. It really show how long I have left this blog behind. I am starting a new blog for our school magazine. If you are interested to see the content, feel free to go to semaiancrewsince2017.blogspot.com 

Initially I intended to create a facebook group or page for that matter but I do realise that not everyone have the Facebook account. So, if I were to get the photos uploaded there then it would be something hard for those non facebook users to view those photos. So, I decided to get it all uploaded on the blog instead. On the negative side, since not so many people are familiar with blog writing, I found out that I only get to monitor the views with no feedbacks or any comments and honestly speaking it is quite disappointing. So, now I guess that I will still have to create the facebook group or account to at least have those facebook users to be part of the school even after they are officially an alumni to the school.

Anyway, I think that I should share it here for why am I, out of the blue decided to write an entry in this blog after I have left it for more than a year I believe. Well, frankly speaking I have just done watching this one Thai Series (for Thai series lovers they understand why am I so into it) called SOTUS. You may find the series online available with the English subtitles. I get a lot of flashback and throwback when I watched the series. It is circulated about the uni life and I have left that Uni life for almost three years now. Time do past so fast. I would like to share this one quote  in the series that really caught me... The recite this line several times in the series... "... because we only get to be the First Year Student once.". So original and so true right?

Well, just to have some flashback and an update on those years and the people it may concern. I met my besties (Alex and Yong) during our first year where all three of us are in the same residential college called Kolej Kediaman E or as how most would call it Kolej Kediaman Perempuan (All Female College) due to its blocks where out of 7 (if I am not mistaken) only one block is available for male students. All three of us (AlFahRey - Thats our acronym), managed to get our place in the college up till our second year and starting from our 3rd year we all went out to the other residential college where me and Alex got ourselves in at the Indah Permai Residential College while Yong got hers in USIA College. And just for the record, we (me and Alex) were among those who live as the final year student in the final year college season for Indah Permai.

Anyway, after we have gone through the 4 challenging yet meaningful years, we did it and we graduated in the same year of 2014. It has been three years now and here I am writing this blog from the district where I am currently serving one of the government school here in Bintulu, Sarawak (Borneo) while Alex is still in another part of Borneo, Sabah teaching in somewhere around Tawau or Semporna (can't recall) and guess where is Yong or her full name Sha.Yo Na B Om Sal ? Well, she is expected to get her Masters Degree Scrool in this coming 14th of December 2017 in one of the University in Melbourne Australia. Whoooo!!! I am super excited.. I really wish I could be there for her graduation day...  It has always been our dream to pursue our study abroad and she is the first one to did it! Yong, worry not... We will follow your footsteps for sure.. I am targeting for UK... wanted to be at the place where the language that we teach are coming from. 

So, can you see how life is? Now only that we are in the current moment that we are able to look back at what have we done and how much have we gone through throughout the past and still trying to figure out what the future holds for us. It seems impossible at first but when we finally did it, we now know that it was not impossible at all. We did it because we allow our self to do it! So, there is no wrong in dreaming big but as we all know, big dream comes with big sacrifice... it could be anything, time, money, relationship, career, anything is possible. Its just the matter of time and whether or not we are willing enough to sacrifice big things for a bigger things.

Well, I guess I would want to save the words for another entry next time, which I hope I will keep on posting. I just want to say that it feels good to be back on track where this is the base where I get started and this is the mould that shape me for who I am today. So, lets not look back and regret. We should keep moving forwards and look back once in a while to see how far have we been through to make things happen and always be grateful for everything serve their own purpose and meaning.

I tried to choose the best photos from those year when I had my uni life but I cant because there are too many memorable events. So... I have got more than 60 altogether.

And this was me and Alex..in our working uniform (shirt)... We had about 4 months semester break and decided to get a part time job. So we did... and yeah.. we were the former worker of RAKYAT SUPERSTORE TUARAN SABAH.

Well,, how was it? If you are not yet a university student and having a dream to be one, go for it. Embrace the world and your life... I do understand that money does matter but even us, when we entered UMS we were one of among many students who came from a not financially well family but we still go for it because it is an investment for a better future... And yea,,having no money should not be an issue because government do help a lot in giving us the education we need... And if you saw my photo in the red t-shirt with my friend, yea. we did part time job to earn extra money for us to use during our uni years.. Thats what we called sacrifice... And believe me, once you have passed the hard season, you will be smiling knowing that you are glad that you took the chance to do it.

So, I'll leave you with this long entry and hopefully I will be back for more stories because right now I need to do something regarding my job as a teacher because hey, I am a working person now remember?.. UMS 2010-2014.. get posted in 2015 and this 2017 is my third year teaching... so... cant wait to see what 2018 holds for me.
